Job Description
The Ark is seeking an individual to work subcontract with our agency to complete Foster, adoption, kinship home assessments for potential families who want to be changemakers in a child’s life
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field
- Knowledge of child welfare regulations and best practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse individuals and families
- Understanding and commitment to the mission and values of the The Ark Child Placing Agency
- Must have reliable transportation, a Valid Texas drivers license
- The Home Study Writer will be responsible for conducting comprehensive home studies for prospective foster parents, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and assessing the suitability of the home environment
- Conduct thorough home visits and interviews with prospective foster parents
- Assess the physical and emotional environment of the prospective foster home
- Gather relevant information through interviews, background checks, and reference checks
- Prepare detailed and accurate home study reports in accordance with organization guidelines and state regulations
- Collaborate with social workers and other team members to gather additional information as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the home study process
- Provide recommendations and feedback to the organization regarding the suitability of prospective foster parents
- Stay informed about changes in relevant regulations and best practices related to foster care
